My name is Thomas Martini, I first started playing football as a young kid and instantly fell in love with it and knew I wanted to continue into college. My junior year of high school my dad was diagnosed with leukemia and due to struggles at home I lost focus of school and playing football. I joined the Marine Corps to give myself a fresh start and possibly get another shot of continuing my passion at a collegiate level. During my first deployment on the USS Iwo Jima, my father’s cancer came back strong and eventually he lost his battle. My whole time in the service I have had my eyes set on playing college football and I never have let go of my passion despite the adversity life has thrown at me. I firmly believe I possess the work ethic, mental toughness, and leadership to be an excellent addition to any Univeristy both on and off the field. I have spent my time in the Marine Corps preparing myself for the mental and physical rigors of football, including personal training lessons in agility and strength and various rec leagues on base.
