Bio

My name is Dromynique Chestnut but close family refer to me as Drom or Droma. I have been playing football since I have been a young child. I have been very fortunate to play ball in high school, junior college, and other places. Once I had graduated high school my though of going to college had never came to mind until I was recruited by a junior college coach. I played at and attend the "College of the Desert" before I shipped out to boot camp in February of 2013. It was best for me to enlist at that moment because I was naive and stuck in a very bad place. I was a good person but I was in need of a way out of the situation I happened to be stuck in. A little over a year into the Marine Corps I became a Marine Security Guard and when I was give the opportunity to travel I had mixed feeling but ultimately excited. 2015-2016 I lived in Monterrey, Mexico where I got the the chance to stay in shape and compete in boxing tournaments. 2016-2017 was when I lived in Paris, France and I was fortunate enough to play on a football team called the Myrmidons. I was the first American to play for that team and I help them when their first championship. I felt great to play sport I love and inspire others. I also got to acknowledge the talent that is out in Europe. The season was only 8 games but it was one to remember. Currently I am finishing up my enlistment in Conakry, Guinea. I have been very blessed to be on this program where I was able to take classes online and training my body. The Marine Corps has done a lot for me, provided me multiple opportunities, and guided me in positive direction. I will for ever be grateful as over the course of time I have also became stronger mentally and physically.
