My name is Davonta Black, I’m 21, 5’9, 200lbs. My last 3 months before I separate from the Marine Corps I’m trying to start getting my body back into football shape. Right now we train for long distance running and endurance workouts. I’m going to drop down to 190 and lean out, I think this will help me become quicker and react faster. I’ve played quarterback from junior high to the 10th grade. Once I got to the 11th grade I rotated between Strong safety and outside linebacker on defense. On offense I played Running back. I didn’t get a lot of playing time, our coaches team was built around smaller faster guys. After high school I wanted to go to college and play at least try to walk on but my family couldn’t afford it, so I joined the marines when I was 18. I’ve became a NCO through hard work and great leadership. I excel in taking charge and leading others. I give 100% in everything I do and will always do more than what’s asked of me to better myself. I’ve played 2 different teams in the Marine Corps full contact league. Another reason going to college besides playing the sport I love the most is, I wanna be the first person in my family to go to college and graduate. This would be a major achievement for me and my family. I’m looking to major in kinesiology and I want to become a strength and conditioning coach after I get my degree. I’ll be attending a combine held by athletes of valor in October and they will upload measurements and my times on the drills.
